Wrinkles are lines and folds that develop as the skin gradually loses collagen and elasticity. They are a normal part of aging but can become more noticeable because of sun exposure or repeated facial expressions. The right wrinkle treatment depends on the type of wrinkles and where they appear.
Aging is one of the main causes of wrinkles because the skin naturally becomes thinner and produces less collagen over time. Genetics can influence how quickly these changes become visible.
Repeated sun exposure can accelerate skin aging by damaging collagen and elastin. Lifestyle factors such as poor sleep or inadequate skin care may also contribute to premature lines. Facial movements create dynamic wrinkles that initially appear when smiling or frowning and may gradually become visible even when the face is at rest.
Early wrinkles usually appear as fine lines around areas that move frequently, including the eyes or forehead. Crow’s feet may first become noticeable when smiling.
As wrinkles progress, lines can become deeper and remain visible when the face is relaxed. More advanced aging may also involve changes in skin texture or facial volume. Treatment should therefore be selected according to whether the concern is primarily movement-related wrinkles or changes in the skin itself.
We treat wrinkles with the following approaches:
Neuromodulator injections such as Botox can soften wrinkles caused by repeated muscle movement. They are commonly used for expression lines and crow’s feet by temporarily relaxing the muscles responsible for creating them. Depending on the area being treated, injectables may also be considered as part of a smile lines treatment plan.
Fractional laser resurfacing delivers controlled laser energy into the skin to stimulate collagen production. It may be recommended for fine lines and more pronounced wrinkles when improving skin texture is also a priority. For some patients, it may be included in a deep wrinkle treatment approach or used as a neck wrinkle treatment when appropriate.
Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries that encourage the skin’s natural repair process and collagen production. It can help improve fine lines while supporting smoother-looking skin. It may also be considered as part of an under eye wrinkle treatment, depending on the condition of the skin and the treatment area.
Clear + Brilliant is a gentle fractional laser treatment designed to address early signs of aging. It may be suitable for people with fine lines who also want to improve uneven texture or visible sun damage. In some cases, it may also complement a lip wrinkle treatment plan for fine lines around the mouth.
Injectable neuromodulators may be preferred when crow’s feet are mainly caused by muscle movement around the eyes. Laser treatments or microneedling may be considered when fine lines are accompanied by changes in texture or other signs of skin aging.
The best approach depends on how your wrinkles present and the results you want to achieve. Our team can assess your skin and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
The best treatment depends on the type of wrinkles. Injectables can address movement-related lines, while treatments that stimulate collagen may be better suited to fine lines associated with changes in skin texture.
Laser treatment can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, but it does not necessarily remove them completely. Fractional lasers stimulate collagen production and skin renewal, which can gradually make fine lines and wrinkles less noticeable.
Crow’s feet can be softened with treatments such as neuromodulator injections. Skin-rejuvenation treatments may also improve fine lines around the eyes when texture and collagen loss contribute to their appearance.
